Tatuaje Nuevitas Lineup

Tatuaje to Launch Re-Introduced Nuevitas in Europe

Tatuaje Cigars re-launched the old brand Nuevitas at this year’s InterTabac in Dortmund. The cigar was produced from 2004 to 2006 before brand owner Pete Johnson discontinued it. At this year’s IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas he brought it back to the US market and now he’s re-introducing it to Europe.

“So far we know it’s going to be available in Germany,” Johnson says. “After that we’ll see which countries pick it up.”

The Nuevitas comes in two lines, Estelí and Jibaro. “They’re two slightly different blends,” owner Pete Johnson says. “They’re both 100 percent Nicaraguan made from My Father tobacco with a Corojo 99 wrapper and with quarter of an inch shagfoot. Estelí is a medium body cigar while Jibaro is medium to bold with a slightly darker wrapper.”

Nuevitas Estelí comes in one size, 5 x 52, and Nuevitas Jibaro in 5 x 54 and 6 x 52. In the US, the Estelí goes for USD 8.50 (~ EUR 7.20), the smaller Jibaro for USD 9 (~ EUR 7.70) and the bigger one for USD 9.50 (~ EUR 8.10).
