22nd Habanos Festival with a Surprise Ending
From February 24th to 28th 2,200 enthusiasts gathered in Havana to celebrate cigar culture. The Habanos Festival ended with a record breaking 4,27 million Euros raised at the traditional humidor auction at the Gala Dinner. All activities during the festival offered some surprises for the attendees from more than 60 countries.

New humidor series celebrates Partagás 175th Anniversary
For the second consecutive year Habanos S.A. picks the Sunday preceding the Habanos Festival to present a new release to the specialised press. The Partagás Tropicales (175mm by 54) was presented at the Hotel Packard at Havana for a selected group of 70 journalists from more than 35 countries that are attending the festival.

Cohiba Cleared to Be Sold in Brazil
In the past few days in Brazil there have been discussions about the future of the Cohiba brand in the country. It all started due to ANVISA (Brazilian regulatory agency for food, drugs and tobacco, amoung other products) recently barring sales of the brand’s cigars. The agency had detected the presence of sorbic acid in Cohiba samples, and any substance added to tobacco products is forbidden in the country.
Festival Origens announces the dates for the 2019 edition
The cigar festival is on its third edition and became a mark on the Brazilian tobacco scenario. The 2019 event is scheduled to take place at Chachoeira, a city in the heart of the tobacco region in the country, from October 17 until 20.
