Just like last year the Slovakian qualifier for the Cigar Smoking World Championship consisted of two rounds, the first one in Košice and the second one in Bratislava.

Latvian slow smoker Nikola Branjak is probably way too familiar with the concept “close but no cigar” by now. Last year he was in the lead when his cigar suddenly went out and he had to concede to Denis Demitch. This year he came in second again, only a minute and a half behind first time competitor, Alexander Ostrovskiy.

Simultaneous Slow Smoking in the US
For the first time the US qualification rounds for the Cigar Smoking World Championship will be held on the same date, and on a much smaller scale. Instead of 17 local competitions like last year there will be five, all at Burn by Rocky Patel lounges around the country.

Ladies only CSWC
Cigar slow smoking history was recently made at a Time Chase event at the Green Room cigar lounge in Turin, Italy. For the first time ever an event connected to the competition featured only women.
CSWC World Record
History was made at a time chase event at M&P Wine Garden Marina Mokotów in Warsaw on May 10. After five long years the slow smoking world record was finally broken. The record holder is none other than Poland’s own Klaudia Ide.
