In honor of the Costa Rican nature Carlo Corazza at Brun del Ré decided to make a new cigar in his 1787 line. The 1787 Rainforest is now available for purchase in Europe.
“We wanted to create a cigar between the Piccolo and the Robusto sizes that’s also related to the beautiful nature of Costa Rica,” Corazza says. “It’s 100 percent Costa Rican made from tobacco from the Pérez Zeledón region in the south of the country.
This means he continues on the same path with his 1787 line, as the Libertad Supremo was his first all Costa Rican cigar when it came out last year.
“They had a lot of aged tobacco that we tried out and we liked it.”
The 1787 Rainforest is a smooth medium bodied cigar, according to its creator.
“It’s a bit harsher in the beginning, but comes down to medium smooth. They come in a box of ten and it’s a Short Robusto.”
With the cigar he not only relates to nature, he also helps preserve it as 20 cent of every cigar sold goes to the Rainforest Foundation of Costa Rica.
