Felix Matei is a reliable slow smoker, to say the least. Last year he broke the Romanian slow smoking record when he became the national champion for the second time in a row, despite a 15 minute penalty. This year he completed the hat-trick, once again while breaking the record, but this time without a penalty.
CSWC in Italy
This year’s national champion of Italy is a well-known one in the world of slow smoking, but it was a dramatic competition with many lead changes between last year’s runner-up and former national champion Federico Serilli, Vincenzo Esposito and Cigar Smoking World Championship ambassador Gino Iannillo before it was settled.
Ali Enes Tasbent Won UK CSWC competition
The title went to last year’s second runner-up, Ali Enes Tasbent.
Zaquiel Mayorga became Spain’s representative for the CSWC finale
In the end it was a matter of seconds when Zaquiel Mayorga became Spain’s representative in the Cigar Smoking World Championship final in Split in September.
Poland dominates the CSWC again
As the Cigar Smoking World Championship season continues Poland seems to strengthen its position as one of the top nations.
CSWC in Dominican Republic
Last year Rafael Solano Portorreal became the first ever Dominican slow smoking champion when he kept his cigar alive for about one hour and 50 minutes.
CSWC in Greece
31 participants tried their luck in reaching the final in Split this September when the Cigar Smoking World Championship came to Greece for the second time.
CSWC in Azerbaijan
Fine dining and prized wines at the Baku resturant Jakonda made for a perfect warm-up when Azerbaijan hosted its second ever Cigar Smoking World championship qualifier.
CSWC in Germany
At the end of May Mikael “Zeke” Zander became Swedish slow smoking champion for the third time.
CSWC in Belarus
24 seconds. That’s how close Andrey Leontiev was to reach that sought-after three hour time limit, when the Cigar Smoking World Championship came to Minsk.
CSWC in Slovakia
Just like last year the Slovakian qualifier for the Cigar Smoking World Championship consisted of two rounds, the first one in Košice and the second one in Bratislava.
CSWC in Latvia
Latvian slow smoker Nikola Branjak is probably way too familiar with the concept “close but no cigar” by now. Last year he was in the lead when his cigar suddenly went out and he had to concede to Denis Demitch. This year he came in second again, only a minute and a half behind first time competitor, Alexander Ostrovskiy.
