True passionados always keep an eye on their humidors. From time to time, however, controlling the cigars is not as easy as you might like it to be. Especially when you’re using more than one humidor. The Swiss company Cigsor AG makes the eponymously named, cigar-sized sensor for complete and precise monitoring.
Placed inside the humidor and measuring 178 x 24.7 mm | 7 x 62, it only takes up the space of a cigar. Symmetrically aligned slits allow humidity and temperature to be precisely measured (+/- 2%). The values are transmitted to a smartphone via Wi-Fi and can be controlled from anywhere at any time with the accompanying app. Using this manageable app, you can define the desired values for humidity and temperature, as well as the ventilation interval. Should the value rise above or fall below the set limits, you are notified by the app.Â
Currently, there are three variations of the product available. The Cigsor Classic (aluminum) costs CHF/EUR 199; the Premium model made from stainless steel retails for CHF/EUR 339; and the Luxury variety (18-carat gold-plated) amounts to CHF/EUR 899. The device is sold in specialist tobacco stores and via www.cigsor.com. Following the huge interest in Switzerland, where Cigsor is run by Oettinger Davidoff, European sales distribution was launched and is being continuously expanded. Cigsor will also extend to the US market by the end of 2017. Quick internationalization is to be made possible via investors.Â
