Juan Lopez brand is returning to the U.S. Market after more than 10 years.
The story of Juan Lopez begins in 1876, when the brand was founded by Spanish businessman, Juan Lopez Sena. While it never achieved the same level of global recognition as some of its Cuban-heritage counterparts, Juan Lopez has maintained a loyal following among premium cigar smokers. The Juan Lopez brand has long been known for its interesting, impeccable blends and small batch production.
“When creating a new version of a cherished heritage cigar, it is important to retain many of the elements that made it so beloved in the first place,” says Nick Libretti, Senior Brand Manager. “Our goal was to create something for the U.S. that a traditional Cuban cigar smoker will recognize and enjoy, while also having a blend and style that resonates with the modern consumer.”
The new Juan Lopez cigar is blended and crafted at the Tabacalera Isla under the eye of cigar-maker Hostos Fernandez Quesada who worked for his family’s legendary factory for many years before striking out on his own.
“It has been such an honor to work with this team on this important project,” says Hostos. “Working with a legendary brand like Juan Lopez is such a great fit for us as a factory and we are very excited to showcase this blend to the world.”
