This is just the second year Oscar Valladares has his own booth at Intertabac, but this year he came with something special. The Santiago Valladares is a cigar dedicated exclusively for the European market.
The new release uses a Corojo Rosado wrapper from Honduras, binder from Nicaragua and filler from Honduras. The blend uses a selection of different tobaccos that Oscar have been waiting to be ready for this blend and that he haven’t use in other before.
The packaging is also something he tried to adopt specially for Europe. “For the first time we used a classic style packaging and all cigars inside the box are coming in individual wood coffins what we think will match the culture and profile of the costumers in the region” says Oscar.
The Santiago Valladares comes in 3 sizes: Hermoso (5 inches by 47), Petit Toro (6 in. by 50) and Robusto Magico (5 ¾ in. by 52) all sizes coming in box of 10 units.
The release marks the 10th anniversary of the launching of the Leaf by Oscar and was named after Oscar’s son, Santiago. “With this I want to honor my son and leave a legacy in his name” adds Oscar.
The suggested retail prices are €24.50 for the Hermoso, €26.50 for the Petit Toro and €29.50 for the Robusto Magico.
Although this will be a regular production cigar, Oscar says the it will be produced in very limited quantities each year.
