A new Macanudo Line is set to debut in Germany and the Netherlands this month. Inspirado Black was developed by STG as follow up of the Inspirado Line with the objective to delivering strong both, strenght and flavor.
Jhonys Diaz, Vice-President Operations of General Cigar, who worked closely together with Stephan Brichau, International Sales & Marketing Manager, on the blend, explains; “For this new Macanudo Inspirado Black we wanted to develop a powerful cigar but yet a flavorful and sweet smoke. Normally when you want strength you need to sacrifice taste and otherwise if taste is preferable then you need to compromise on the strength. This blend is so special because it combines both a powerful cigar with an outstanding savor.”
The binder Vega Especial is a proprietary leave developed by STG’s farming operation in the Dominican Republic and grows in the northeast region of the country. For the blend of Macanudo Inspirado Black the leaves used come from the mid-section of the plant adding a hearty flavor and boosting the forte of the smoke.
An oily Habano Connecticut wrapper was added, which brings sweetness and strength. This tobacco comes from the sandy loam and rich soil of the alluvial floodplain of the Connecticut River in Connecticut – US and is grown exclusively for STG by the Thrall family. The Thrall family owns the oldest farm in the US and the cooperation with STG goes back in time for decades.
The filler consists of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Dominican Olor and Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos.
Set to debut at retail in September in Germany and The Netherlands, other markets will follow shortly after, Macanudo Inspirado Black will launch with two vitolas:
