At the 2025 PCA trade show in New Orleans, Karen Berger Cigars will be releasing a first for their company as well as a tribute to the origins of Nicaraguan Tobacco. Ixtelli is the Native American name for the area that is now called Esteli, a name given to the town by the Spanish. Ixtelli, and Esteli’s humble beginnings, date back to the indigenous people of the land who considered it to be sacred and cultivated tobacco for their rituals and ceremonies centuries ago.
Coming in the format of a round 6 x 52 toro, Ixtelli is a Nicaraguan puro, a first for Karen Berger Cigars. The wrapper is an Habano Criollo that sits on top of a Habano Jalapa binder. The filler is from the Karen Berger farm in Esteli. An absolutely luxurious cigar is the result of the combinations of these tobaccos that are native to Nicaragua which supports the name of the cigar as a blend that is deeply rooted in the finest tobacco-growing region in the world.
Look for Ixtelli in stores starting in April of 2025.
