The Wine Boutique Hotel continues to affirm itself within the world of Hôtellerie — not only for its special food and wine offering, but also for a special experience: its Cigar Lounge.
An elegant property that opened its doors in 2017, Hotel De‘ Ricci is a genuine Wine Boutique Hotel boasting a collection of 1,500 labels — for a total of over 15,000 bottles — and one that has repeatedly earned the title of Best Wine Cellar in Rome from Wine Spectator.
The latest jewel in the crown of this Boutique Hotel is its Cigar Lounge — an exclusive space dedicated to smokers and cigar connoisseurs, and above all, a setting for private tastings and special events. Located within the Charade Bar on the ground floor, the Cigar Lounge has been honoured by Habanos S.A. as a premier venue, earning the coveted Habanos Lounge plaque. Open to the public, the space is where Flavio Scannavino, General Manager of Hotel De‘ Ricci, welcomes enthusiasts, guiding them through an extensive selection of cigars.
Among the more than 30 varieties available — exclusively Cuban — special mention goes to the selection of Cohiba Behike 52, 54 and 56, the limited editions of Trinidad Cabildos and Upmann Magnum Finite, alongside some of the finest cigars from Partagas, Montecristo and Quai D’Orsay, all paired with spirits, cocktails, champagne and wine.
The atmosphere allows passionados to complete the experience with a curated selection of fine chocolates. External guests are also welcome to bring their own cigars, with a minimum consumption of 30 euros per person.
The Cigar Lounge is one of the many experiences offered at Hotel De‘ Ricci, a property home to 8 luxurious suites, each equipped with a private wine cellar showcasing a selection of sought-after bottles. From the moment of booking, guests can express their wine preferences to ensure a bespoke service. This Wine Boutique Hotel also opens its doors to wine lovers of all kinds, offering private guided tastings alongside those featured in its ongoing event calendar. Noteworthy is the culinary and wine journey that unfolds throughout the day: open from 7 a.m., the hotel offers an à la carte continental breakfast. Not to be missed is the restaurant menu, available for lunch and dinner, along with an inviting aperitivo to sample the kitchen’s offerings, helmed in unison by Francesco Donzelli, Maurizio Nicoletti and Alessio Todde — perhaps paired with a fine glass of wine recommended and presented by sommeliers Marco Ciampini and Lorenzo Lanzuisi.
Mixology enthusiasts, meanwhile, will not want to miss the experience at Charade Bar, Hotel De‘ Ricci’s cocktail bar hidden behind a blue velvet curtain. Step through, and you enter a space adorned with hand-drawn illustrations by artist Andrea Ferolla.
