Hamlet Paredes Introduces 25th Anniversary Cigar In Malmö

On the European tour to promote his latest creation, Hamlet 25th Year, Rocky Patel’s master roller, Hamlet Paredes, stopped by Malmö Cigarrsällskap to talk to a room full of curious Swedes.

“I’m going to talk to you about who I am and how I got all the way here,” he opened up saying. “I’ve been in the business for 25 years now. That’s why the cigar is called Hamlet 25th year.”

He began with his upbringing in Cuba, being basically pushed by his Mom to start working in the Pártagas factory after dropping out of medical school after two months at the age of 17. Then he continued by talking about everything from how it’s possible to keep a long ash to how he ended up at Rocky Patel, and the theory behind free hand rolling.

“It took me twelve years to learn it. The most difficult part is to feel the gauge size in your hands when you change vitolas.”

Afterwards theory turned into practice as he demonstrated his skills in front of attentive visitors.

The event was organized by Malmö Cigarrsällskap, Rocky Patel and Kind Cigars.
