Exclusive Cigar Honors World’s First Duty Free Walk-In Humidor

In 1997 Phoenician Trading, the distributor of Habanos cigars in the Middle East and most of Africa, opened up the world’s first and biggest duty free walk-in humidor at the Beirut Rafic Hariri Airport in Lebanon. To commemorate this it was decided to create “El Rey del Mundo W.I.H 20 years”, a regional line exclusively sold at La Casa del Habano Duty Free Shop and Lounge. A couple of weeks ago the cigar finally saw the light of day, which was celebrated at the cocktail bar, Jackie O, in downtown Beirut. The cigars come in one size, Geniales, 54×150 mm. They’ve been hand-rolled at the famous El Laguito Factory in Havana and only 8,000 boxes have been produced.

Around 150 guests, including the Cuban ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, showed up to try out the new cigar, and one lucky winner went home with a whole box.
