Back in 2004, Miguel Cuenca began his dream of owning a cigar shop. Of Cuban origins, and with experience in the industry back in the homeland, he wanted to start a business that was near and dear to his heart and culture. This was the birth of Cuenca Cigars. He and his passionate wife Ana, who is trained in IT, have supported the business on the online cigar store; they started off with a micro store in central Hollywood and a small selection of cigars in only a third of what the store is today. Now, with a 600 square foot humidor stacked to the ceiling with delightful boxes of our beloved leaves, and a very exclusive selection, Cuenca boasts that they sell the most amount of cigars in the area per square foot.
The store is divided in two; when you walk on the right side, you step into the aforementioned humidor, which has an impressive selection of both legacy and boutique brands. If you come off the street to the left side, you will enter the expansive lounge with plenty of leather chairs and big-screen TVs for drinking and smoking.
A nice cold beer or a glass of wine are both available to pair with your cigar. If you want to try your hand at beating the locals at a game of dominos, best of luck and enjoy yourself. Chances are you’ll have better odds at enjoying your cigar than beating the usual suspects that play there all the time.
