Mexico’s IEPT 30th Anniversary and book release

Our friends of the Mexican distributors of Habanos, SA for Mexico, “Importadora y Exportadora de Puros y Tabacos S.A. DE C.V.” (IEPT) are celebrating 30 years of operations bringing the pleasures of Habanos to Mexican cigar passionados, congratulations!

IEPT, the brainchild of veterans Rodolfo Velasco and Max Gutmann (see Cigar Journal: https://www.cigarjournal.com/max-gutmann-a-true-cigar-pioneer/) chose this milestone achievement to launch a beautiful new book “El Habano in Mexico, the story of the man who organized its distribution” (Original title: “El Habano en México, la historia del hombre que organizó su distribución.”

Written in a very creative way by accomplished writer Adargelio Garrido de la Grana, author of various books on the brand Cohiba, IEPT tells the incredible history of its origins and the way in which its founders organized the distribution of Habanos in Mexico, unleashing in each of its pages, unforgettable memories and anecdotes of the long history of Habanos in the country, including creating and opening the very first “La Casa del Habano” in the world.

Rodolfo and Max are true cigar pioneers, and their story deserved to be told!
