La Regenta: New Limited Edition Rum Barrel Aged

La Regenta, the century-old brand of premium cigars made in the Canary Islands (Spain), presents at Intertabac 2023 their new limited edition: La Regenta Añejo. A small batch of 10 count cigar boxes, pirámide size (150 mm x 52, figurado) that uses a very special and rare type of tobacco: leaves from Remedios (Cuba), harvested in 2008, which have been subjected to an aging proccess for two years in Canarian rum barrels from the brand Capitan Kid 30 years, the super-premium line of Arehúcas rum.

The cigar uses an Ecuador habano wrapper, with a binder from San Andrés (Mexico) and in the filler it combines tobaccos from Remedios (Cuba) with a Matafina (Brazil) leaf that has been also aged in the rum barrels.

For the brand’s master blender, Rubén Arteaga, is his best creation but he assures that they still have a good part of the tobacco left for future productions or new blends. Rubén Artega, like every year, is one of the attractions of the Intertabac show, making cigar-rolling demostrations in La Regenta’s booth.
