Since Fred Vandermarliere acquired Oliva just two years ago, access to Oliva Cigars in Europe has improved; it has never been better, according to Brian Shapiro, Oliva Cigar Company’s Director of International Sales. At the recent InterTabac trade Show, Brian was excited to be showcasing two new limited edition cigars: the Oliva Serie V Melanio Edicion Limitada 2018 and the Cain Daytona Limitada 2018.
Shapiro reveals that the Oliva Serie V Melanio limited edition is presented in a robusto vitola (5 x 50) in 10 count boxes. 10,000 cigars have been made and allocated to numerous countries around the world. The 2018 Edicion Limitada is not box-pressed and will retail for approximately Euro 20.
The Cain Daytona Limitada (7 x 70) design features cater to Daytona race lovers. “The Cain Daytona Limitada is a straight Jalapa Valley Ligero giving it plenty of muscle, while the cigar features a second rubber tire ring located just above the traditional orange Cain Daytona cigar ring at the foot of the cigar. The box design lifts a new cigar from the second level when one is drawn from the 10 count box,” said Shapiro. “The Cain Daytona is not as widely known as other cigars in Oliva’s portfolio so this Limitada is a way of giving it a boost.” It will retail for between Euro 14-15 depending on the import country.
