CSWC Expands to Borneo

The Cigar Smoking World Championship keeps expanding, this time to the island of Borneo. The new qualification round will be an addition to the one in Kuala Lumpur, and it will be held at the Hilton hotel in the city of Kota Kinabalu, giving the slow smokers of Southeast Asia another chance to make it to the grand final in Croatia later this year.

The man behind the expansion is, unexpectedly, Hazely Harun of Trinidad Cigar Company. He’s the long-time organizer of the qualifier in Kuala Lumpur and one of the CSWC’s biggest ambassadors in this part of the world.

“He has been instrumental in bringing the excitement of CSWC to local cigar enthusiasts, creating a community of passionate participants who appreciate the art of cigar smoking,” founder Marko Bilic says. “

According to Bilic, the expansion is a sign of an increasing demand for and international recognition of the CSWC, and he’s really happy about the new location.

“The Hilton Hotel in Kota Kinabalu provides a luxurious backdrop for this extraordinary experience,” he says. “It showcases the great cigar experience we offer on a global scale and with this new location, Trinidad Cigar Company are taking the experience to even greater heights.”
