The long-anticipated official launch of Confidenciaal cigars arrived in classic Prohibition Speakeasy style in Hong Kong.
Confidenciaal Cigars, the new brand from Eric Piras, owner of cigar distribution company Cigraal and Bertie Cigar Lounge Hong Kong, enjoyed a soft launch in February and a trade launch in September at InterTabac Dortmund, however this was the first opportunity due to previous Covid restrictions to host an official consumer launch as the third part of Confidenciaal’s “big bang”.
For this exceptional evening, Bertie Cigar Lounge was turned into a Speakeasy, complete with a password at the door, a ‘secret’ drinks list, bottles covered with paper bags, and cigar girls presenting all seven Confidenciaal vitolas on custom-made trays. Tenor extraordinaire Elia Astorino wooed the guests with enchanting tunes throughout the night, and Cuban magician Jose Almenares amazed all with his cigar-related tricks.
“A Prohibition party seemed a perfect fit for Confidenciaal, since the brand is all about secret, said Piras. “I am thrilled that all the guests took the dress code so seriously, we were transported into a different era!”
Confidenciaal’s trade launch in September in Dortmund was well received among distributors and retailers. “We’re starting to ship to a growing number of countries.,” said Piras. We already know that the brand is successful with the consumers, as I’ve have been selling these cigars in my Bertie Cigar Lounge in Hong Kong and had the chance to get first-hand positive feedback from aficionados and aficionadas.”
