Cohiba is to unveil the second edition of Spectre: Cohiba Spectre, a small batch with 180 boxes.
The wrapper is deeply fermented, hand selected Nicaraguan Jalapa. During the curing process, a small percentage of upper-priming leaves were set aside for deeper aging. These leaves underwent additional fermentation lasting six months, during which time the tobacco became more elegant.
Each leaf has been aged between four and sixteen years. The Nicaraguan Jalapa and Esteli filler leaves underwent a special finishing in Spanish Sherry barrels. When paired with Brazilian Mata Fina filler leaves and a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, the experience is one of complexity and refinement.
To maximize the nuances of the tobaccos contained within, Cohiba Spectre has been made solely in a 6” x 49 vitola. The cigars are presented in a circular red and silver box, in which ten cigars are housed. A box can be purchased for $900, and individual cigars sell for $90.
