Ram Rodriguez and Kevin Newman, from Artista Cigars, presents a new limited edition, Artista Limited Edition 1.4, that has a nice story behind. The wrapper was grown in Pennsylvania, USA by a friend of Ram that belongs to the Amis Church. “The only way to communicate with him was by mail… Not e-mail, but mail”, says Ram. The wrapper is oscuro color and comes from an hybrid seed of Dominican and USA tobacco. The had only enough wrapper to make 5,000 cigars, so they commercialize it included in a sampler of five, made of wood and bioplastic, that contains a couple of the Artista Limited Edition 1.4 and one cigar of each of the regular series of Artista Cigars.
Artista has gone into machine-made cigars too, with three different options of puritos (little cigars) with three different wrappers. Claro, Connecticut; Oscuro, Ecuadorian Habano; and Rustico, with Kentucky Fire-Cured wrapper. Inside, short filler from Dominican Republic, but the Rustico that contains Kentucky tobacco in the fifty per cent of the filler.
