Commemorating the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, Davidoff of Geneva USA is unveiling the Exclusive Indy 500 Edition. Known as the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the world’s largest single day spectator sporting event will be celebrating its 100th running on May 29, 2016.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Cohiba brand, Habanos S.A. has released several new Cohiba cigars at the 18th Festival del Habano.
Released annually on St. Patrick’s Day since it was first introduced in 2013, the cigars will feature a barber pole wrapper this year. Suggested retail is $8.50 per cigar. The cigars will ship to retailers on February 10.
Davidoff officially introduced their new “Chefs Edition” cigar at the first event of their 2016 Tour Gastronomique in the Dominican Republic. Details about the limitation numbers and retail price have not been announced yet.
The new Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed marks the first time Davidoff introduces a box pressed cigar. The new line features some changes in the blend of the original Davidoff Nicaragua line which was voted as Cigar Journal’s Best Brand/DR in 2015.
General Cigar announced that Punch Rare Corojo has begun making its annual return to retail. The 2016 release of Punch Rare Corojo marks the addition of Regalias Perfecto, a 7.25” x 54 Perfecto.
La Galera Cigars, an IndianHead Cigars brand owned by Jochy Blanco (Tabacalera Palma), will release a sampler of ten cigars. The La Galera Exclusive Sampler contains five different sizes with Connecticut and Habano wrappers.
“Last year we released the Asylum Nyctophilia at TAA. This year we decided to showcase a cigar under the C.L.E. portfolio.” says Christian Eiroa, founder of C.L.E. Cigar Company.
C.L.E. Cigars redesigned the appearance of their Classic and CBT Maduro lines resembling the look of their recently released First 20 Years cigars. Apparently the cigars shipped to retailers this week, already feature the new design.
Produced at the El Titan de Bronze factory in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, USA, Cornelius is made under the supervision of owner Sandra Cobas. The blend consists of an Ecuador wrapper and binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua.
As part of the extension of their Exclusive Edition 2016 program, Davidoff will soon unveil details about Special Edition Releases several U.S. based tobacconists will receive in March this year. The Exclusives will be produced in limited quantities and sold only at those retailer’s shops.
