Murmmr has announced The Object: Cigar, a new iteration of The Object, its domed crystal ashtray. The edition is limited to 50 pieces and ships July, 2026.
Developed in collaboration with third-generation tobacconist Brian Telford of Telford’s Pipe & Cigar in Mill Valley, CA, The Object: Cigar preserves the silhouette and craftsmanship of the original while recasting the base with a cutout that accommodates even large-format cigars (up to a 74 ring gauge) and replacing the spherical knocker with a precision-milled brass cigar tapper that mirrors the dome’s Art Deco-style handle.
Set over a resting cigar, the Czech crystal dome snuffs out the smoke gently, over time, allowing the cigar to be relit with minimum interference to the flavor profile. Plus, as the cigar slowly extinguishes, the swirling smoke transforms 5.6 pounds of optical-grade crystal into a dynamic static sculpture.
The Object: Cigar is produced using the same European manufacturers as the original: a fifth-generation Czech crystal foundry and a fifth-generation Bavarian glassworks — the same family-owned studios that supply Tiffany, Tom Dixon, LVMH, and more. Each of the 50 sets is individually numbered and ships with a torn letterpress card as Proof of Originality, with one half stored at Murmmr HQ for an unreproducible authentication record.
