Madrid Celebrates Montecristo Wide Edmundo’s Premiere

Tabacalera, exclusive Habanos distributor for Spain, organized the world’s premiere of the new Montecristo Wide Edmundo at the Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid with 300 attendees.

Tabacalera, exclusive Habanos distributor for the Spanish market, brought together more than 300 cigar lovers at Madrid’s Metropolitan Stadium for the world premiere of the new Montecristo Wide Edmundo, the latest addition to the portfolio of what is probably Montecristo’s most modern and successful line: the Edmundos. The new Wide Edmundo, a 124 mm x 54 format (vitola de galera “Duke nº3”), was presented a year ago, at the “Habanos World Days” virtual event, but it is now that it will begin to be shipped to the markets. In the words of Juan Girón, Tabacalera Communication Manager, who was the master of ceremonies, Montecristo Wide Edmundo reconciles two great virtues of Cuban tobacco: tradition, the one from Montecristo which is a brand steeped in history and almost a hundred years old, and innovation, the industry’s constant effort to renew and update its products.

The event, organized by the private smokers’ club “Pasión Habanos”, has become an essential annual party for tobacco lovers in Spain and its success is more than guaranteed. In fact, “Pasión Habanos” put the tickets on sale at the beginning of September and they all sold out in just over half an hour. It is, without a doubt, a greatest evento throughout the season in Spain, a good opportunity to have a great time smoking a cigar, in which, in addition, the attendees have the chance of becoming the first people in the world in tasting a new and exciting habano: Montecristo Wide Edmundo.

This is the third time that Pasión Habanos has chosen a venue that  is versatile (it is covered and, at the same time, outdoors) and gives the event an extra spectacular quality: the Metropolitan Stadium, home of the Atlético de Madrid football club. The event was entered through the tunnel that the players use normally exit the field. Downstairs, at grass level, the welcome cocktail was held, with two aperitif cigars: Montecristo Media Corona and Montecristo Petit Edmundo.

Later, the attendees went up to the first amphitheater, where “Grupo Paraguas” offered a delicious dinner that Pasión Habanos seasoned with a varied music and dance show and two Montecristo Wide Edmundos were distributed per person. After dinner, presentations and awards, the night went on with music and drinks until well into the early hours.
