‘Keep’, TOTEM’s new line of humidors, shines the spotlight on the designs of mythological or legendary creatures from the Native American culture that have been so beautifully showcased on TOTEM’s ashtrays.
Entirely made by hand in a French-run workshop that caters to luxury brands, three to four weeks of work is invested into the creation of each humidor which is then ‘piano-laquered’ with 20 layers of varnish, offering a perfect gloss of the highest quality.
As with the other TOTEM items, there is no branding on the outside, enabling the unique designs to fully shine.Boasting Okume wood, their own pre-calibrated electronic hygro-thermometer, and a complete set of Boveda humidifying system starter kit, the three humidor models Thunderbird, Feathered Serpent, and Healing Frog. are offered in luminous tones and come in two sizes. The colourful humidors also feature a custom-designed lock and key, reminiscent of the brand’s logo and its strong meaning.
TOTEM has also enlarged its ‘Ash’ series by adding two ashtrays in bright orange and green, respectively featuring the Wise Turtle, a symbol of perseverance, resilience, protection, wisdom and long life, and Kokopelli, the hunchback dancing flute player present in the Native Americans’ culture for 3,000 years who represents fertility for crops, hopes, dreams and love.
Eric Piras, TOTEM’s founder, has always had a fascination for Native Americans, and TOTEM is a tribute to their culture. “Not only are these humidors absolutely stunning, we’ve also given a lot of thought to the fact that they should be very easy to set up and maintain.”
