Altadis U.S.A proudly introduces Aging Room Blue Amber—the newest piece from Rafael Nodal, handcrafted in Nicaragua with cigar master AJ Fernandez.
Inspired by the rare blue amber gemstone found only in the Cordillera Septentrional mountains of the Dominican Republic, this blend mirrors the gem’s mystery. Tobaccos were grown near Las Cumbres, in the same mountain range where the gemstone is discovered, overlooking the Cibao Valley. Mineral-rich soils and cool mountain air yield leaves of special purity and depth.
“Blue Amberx is a cigar born from the same land that gives life to the rare gemstone it’s named after,” says Rafael Nodal, creator and owner of Aging Room and Vice President of Product Capability at Tabacalera U.S.A.
“The tobaccos used in this blend come from fields nestled in the Cordillera Septentrional mountain range near Las Cumbres—just steps away from where the blue amber stone is found. This connection is more than symbolic; it’s literal. The same earth that forms the gem also nourishes the leaves, infusing them with a distinctive mineral essence with refined complexity and a perfectly harmonious symphony of flavors. The result is a cigar that is creamy, elegant, and layered with floral and spice notes. For me, Blue Amber is both a tribute to the land and a celebration of 15 years of passion and artistry that define the Aging Room legacy.”
Aging Room Blue Amber features a Nicaraguan wrapper from AJ Fernandez over a Dominican binder, with Nicaraguan and special Dominican fillers sourced from the amber-rich La Cumbre region.
Each cigar is presented in a humidor finished in deep blue tones, polished brass accents, and hand-set cedar trays—a design that mirrors the luminous hues of the blue amber gemstone and the artistry within.
The line debuts in four box-pressed vitolas and premiered October 29 at the TAA Annual Meeting in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic. Shipments to appointed Aging Room Maestro retailers begin in December.
To honor both the launch and the brand’s 15th anniversary, Aging Room has partnered with Dennison Watches, a British brand renowned for its handcrafted timepieces and heritage craftsmanship. The collaboration introduces the Dennison Aging Room Blue Amber Limited Edition Timepiece, limited to 225 pieces and priced at $1,000.
Each watch features a genuine blue amber stone dial, sourced from the same Dominican region that inspired the cigar.
