Plasencia unveiled a new look at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show. In addition to the brand logo, the family-owned company’s cigar boxes also underwent a redesign or facelift. These were unveiled to the global public for the first time at the trade show in New Orleans.
At the heart of the design is a stylized tobacco leaf within a geometric shape—a visual statement of naturalness and individuality, heritage, and artisanal precision. The clean lines give the brand a modern yet deeply rooted identity.
Furthermore, Plasencia introduced the Triunfal cigar, inspired by the second most beautiful triviality in the world: soccer, more specifically the 2026 World Cup taking place in the U.S. and Mexico. Following the Ehtëfal for the 2022 World Cup, this marks the second time the brand has launched a limited edition specifically for the major event. Plasencia chose a 6 1/4 x 54 Toro Extra format, with a wrapper from Finca La Tradición in the Jamastrán Valley in Honduras. Beneath it is a Honduran binder from Finca San Agustín in Olancho, as well as filler tobaccos from La Tradición and Jalapa in Nicaragua.
The boxes evoke iconic stadium architecture, in a rich green-black hue that visually oscillates between tobacco leaves and stadium turf.
The cigars are produced at Plasencia’s Tabacos de Oriente factory in Danlí, using a deliberately slow-paced process: just two master rollers craft the entire production run. Accordingly, the production is limited to 5,000 boxes, each containing ten cigars. The recommended retail price is USD 59.99 per cigar.
In a personal conversation, José Luis Plasencia emphasized the emotional dimension of the project: Triunfal is not just another cigar, but a companion for special moments.
