Cigar maker and brand owner Dr. Gaby Kafie proudly announces the release of the Kafie 1901 10th Anniversary Sampler.
Dr. Kafie’s journey commenced in 2013, collaborating with the esteemed heirs of Rolando Reyes Sr. at Tabacalera Puros Aliados (makers of Cuba Aliados, Puros Indios, and Cienfuegos Cigars). Mentored by Reyes, hailed as the greatest tobacco technician by Cigar Aficionado in the 1990s, Dr. Kafie honed his skills and eventually established Tabacalera G. Kafie y Cia. (2016-2021) in Danli, Honduras, producing remarkable blends for his own brands and others.
In the face of adversity with the 2021 pandemic and hurricanes devastating Honduras, Dr. Kafie took bold steps to secure his company’s future. Relocating production to Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, he partnered with La Aurora Cigars Factory to create a dream blend, resulting in the much-acclaimed Dominican Puro featuring tobaccos from the Cibao Valley, the Serie L Natural. This blend was nominated by Cigar Journal Magazine for Best Boutique Cigar Brand and Best Value Cigar for the Dominican Republic.
The 10th Anniversary Sampler, set to launch in early 2024, encapsulates a decade of passion and perseverance. Encased in an elegant silver box, adorned with captivating artwork depicting the history of Dr. Kafie’s grandparents, the sampler pays homage to the Kafie family’s rich legacy in Central America. All blends are hand crafted at La Aurora Cigars Factory.
The Collection will feature a cigar of each blend in the Toro Vitola 5 3/4 x 54.

These samplers will come as a set of 5 in a special display adorned with artwork of each blend and special nominations from Cigar Journal Magazine over the years. The display will hold 25 cigars in total. MSRP pricing has not been established yet, but should be in the range of $57.00 – $59.00 per sampler. The average price of each cigar will be roughly $12.00. A tremendous value for such high quality tobaccos.
