CSWC in Slovakia

Just like last year the Slovakian qualifier for the Cigar Smoking World Championship consisted of two rounds, the first one in Košice and the second one in Bratislava. And just like last year the winner of the first round ended up second in total, and that’s after setting a new Slovakian record. In competition with 19 others last year’s runner-up in Košice, Richard Tlučko, managed to keep his cigar burning for 2 hours 16 minutes and 6 seconds.

That only lasted a week, though. In Bratislava Peter Novysedlák beat Tlučko’s time by a mere three minutes when he became the national champion for the second time. Third place went to Filip Novotný who was just two and a half minutes behindl Tlučko.

“The popularity of the competition in Slovakia is increasing,” organizer Roberto Resmer says. “The achievement of four times over two hours is proof of that, and I believe that the cigar community in Slovakia is moving in the right direction.”
