Joya de Nicaragua Begins New Chapter at PCA 2026

Joya de Nicaragua is arriving at the 2026 PCA Show in New Orleans with both a packed product slate and a significant business story to tell. The nearly 60-year-old Nicaraguan manufacturer has transitioned its U.S. distribution to SAG Imports, a joint venture between the Martínez family, which owns Joya de Nicaragua, and the Quesada family of the Dominican Republic. The two brands are sharing booth space at the show, marking the beginning of what both companies are describing as a genuine partnership rather than a simple distribution arrangement.

On the product side, Joya is bringing five releases to the show floor. The most broadly accessible are the Rosalones CT and Rosalones Reserva, a pair of regular-production lines that were previously only available outside the U.S. Both come in Robusto and Toro formats, differ by wrapper—Connecticut Shade versus Nicaraguan Habano Criollo Colorado—and share all-Nicaraguan tobaccos for the binder and filler leaves.

Rounding out the lineup are three more distinct offerings: the Cinco de Cinco Corona Doble, a large 7 x 54 size previously withheld from American shelves; the Clásico Original Green Room Selection, a historically inspired 6 x 54 Diadema wrapped in Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade that’s limited to just 700 boxes for the U.S. market; and the Joya Red, White & Blue, a patriotic limited edition 6 x 52 Toro with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with just 500 boxes timed for early June shipment ahead of America’s Independence Day.
