With the launch of the Dios del Sol, Kopp Tobaccos celebrates a very special milestone: its very first in-house cigar line. For the family-run company, this marks not only the beginning of a new era but also the start of an exciting journey through the world’s finest tobacco regions.
At the helm of the project is Oliver Kopp, who poured his passion, dedication, and countless hours of work into turning this vision into reality. Choosing the right producer and developing the design were matters close to his heart. The result: a cigar that unites tradition and modernity in perfect harmony – a source of great pride for Kopp Tobaccos.
The Inspiration: God of the Sun
The name Dios del Sol – “God of the Sun” – is rooted in the cultures of Central America. As a symbol of beginnings, life, and positivity, he is immortalized in temples, pyramids, and stone calendars of indigenous peoples.
About two years ago, the search began for the ideal partner to create the first cigar line. Kopp Tobaccos found it in one of the oldest and most renowned families in the cigar world. After more than a year of aging, a harmonious blend emerged, uniting tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua into an exceptional smoking experience:
- Wrapper: Honduras Connecticut
- Binder: Honduras Broadleaf
- Filler: Honduras Jamastrán & Nicaragua Jalapa
Availability
