Boutique Cigar Pavilion to Feature at PCA 2023

The Boutique Cigar Association (BCA) and the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) announce a ground-breaking collaboration that aims to empower small family-owned boutique cigar companies in showcasing their products at the prestigious PCA Trade Show.

“Over the past two years, the BCA and PCA have worked together tirelessly to develop an innovative concept and platform that addresses the challenges faced by small companies with limited budgets and staffing constraints,” said Armen Caprielian, President of the BCA. “There is a famous quote that says, ‘there is no stability without solidarity and no solidarity without stability’. For way too long, our industry has negated to develop a gateway for new enterprise to flourish, the BCA Pavilion addresses these concerns. “

The Boutique Cigar Pavilion will be a dedicated area on the trade show floor where BCA member companies will have the opportunity to attend, support the PCA, and exhibit their exceptional products. This collaborative effort between the BCA and PCA demonstrates their commitment to both the growth of small boutique cigar businesses and the advocacy for the premium cigar industry as a whole.

“It has always been the goal of every small boutique cigar company to be able to exhibit at the PCA Trade Show,” said Dr. Gaby Kafie, founder and current treasurer of the BCA and owner of Kafie 1901 Cigars. “Through the Boutique Cigar Pavilion, we have come together as a community to support the PCA while gaining more exposure for our brands. It’s a win-win partnership.”

The inaugural year of the Boutique Cigar Pavilion has already surpassed expectations. Initially aiming for 12 member companies to participate, the BCA now proudly boasts a total of 18 companies, with 15 already registered and having paid for their booths. This exciting development not only reflects the positive momentum within the boutique cigar industry but also underscores the challenges faced by small producers amidst regulatory headwinds.

In a united front, the BCA and PCA aim to convey a resounding message to federal and state regulators that premium cigars deserve distinct treatment from other combustible tobacco products. Dr. Gaby Kafie initially met with PCA leadership during the 2022 PCA Trade Show, sowing the seeds of this collaboration.

The BCA urges all retailers attending the trade show to visit the Pavilion and engage with the vendors. Who knows, you might just discover the next great brand for your store.
