The Decent Cigar launch The Hancock Linea No. 1

The Decent Cigar Emporium is set to launch their next custom cigar blend, The Hancock. The official launch will take place at an exclusive event in Dublin’s Dylan Hotel on December 6th.

Guy’s 30 years in the cigar industry furnished him with the knowledge and contacts to produce The Hancock. The tobaccos hail from the Pueblo Nuevo and Condega region in Estelí as well as Jalapa in the northern part of Nicaragua. Over 1,800 feet above sea level, this rich and verdant region is blanketed in thick oak and pine forests. The altitude creates a climate that produces some of the best leaves for many of the largest cigar producers out of Nicaragua today. The of The Hancock Linea No.1 is 4.8” X 55 Ring.

The DCE has earnt a reputation for producing exciting and popular custom blends; their Grafton cigar is a firm favourite with cigar passionados worldwide. But The Hancock is of special significance as Barry Joyce explains, “Sadly, we lost Guy before we could fully release The Hancock. It was his idea of the perfect cigar and homage to his favourite building in one of his favourite cities, The John Hancock Centre in Chicago, which features in the artwork.” 

“It was both our duty and privilege to complete his work; we simply had to get it right for Guy. We were conscious all along that we were crafting a legacy with this cigar, a tribute to a great cigar lover.” 

Indeed, Guy’s vision for The Hancock has influenced everything from the cigar blend to the stylish and timeless branding of the band and box as Gary Kelly explains, “The blend has been carefully balanced to be mild and approachable for newcomers to cigars, yet with a subtle depth of flavour and robust character that will satisfy the most experienced smoker.”

To mark the launch of The Hancock in fitting style, The DCE team will host one of their legendary live events in Dublin’s Dylan Hotel on December 6th. The DCE series of live events have fast become the- place-to-be for cigar lovers, featuring guest appearances from some of the biggest figures in the cigar industry and exciting partnerships with artisan producers.
