SCHUSTER XO: Limited Edition with 2004 Cameroon Wrapper

Cigarrenfabrik August Schuster expands its SCHUSTER cigarillo range with the SCHUSTER XO – 2004 Cameroon Wrapper. The limited edition is available in two formats, Purito and Club, presented in cedarwood boxes.

The launch builds on the SCHUSTER cigarillo line, introduced in Germany in the previous year, which combines selected vintage tobaccos with contemporary packaging.

More Than Two Decades of Ageing

In 2004, Cigarrenfabrik August Schuster acquired two bales of Cameroon wrapper tobacco from an exceptional harvest. Although no specific product had been planned at the time, the company decided to store the tobacco in its own ageing cellars.

After more than 20 years of storage under carefully controlled conditions, the tobacco now serves as the defining component of the limited SCHUSTER XO edition.

“Exceptional tobacco cannot always be planned. You have to recognise the opportunity when it arises and then have the patience not to rush the process. My father was already convinced in 2004 that these two bales were something special. Today, the long wait has proved worthwhile,” says Martin Schuster, Managing Director of Cigarrenfabrik August Schuster.

Cameroon Wrapper with a Long History

Cameroon tobacco has a distinctive history, with its origins commonly associated with tobacco seeds brought from Sumatra to the region in the late 19th century. Over time, Cameroon established itself as a recognised tobacco provenance.

The SCHUSTER XO combines the aged Cameroon wrapper with filler tobaccos sourced from Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. The limited availability of the edition reflects the finite quantity of wrapper tobacco preserved since 2004.
