Oliva Evening in Istanbul

The cigar market in Turkey is anything but easy; nevertheless, Turkish passionados are extremely open and curious when it comes to new brands.

On 3 June, more than 65 passionados gathered in Istanbul to celebrate the fact that Oliva and Nub cigars have been made available for a while now in Turkey.

In addition to tasting an Oliva and Nub cigar, Eminente Rum from Cuba was also on offer.

The evening was moderated by M. Kemal Saatcioglu, who runs the cigar shop “Cigar Bodrum” (with an exclusive range of Oliva cigars, among others) in the Hotel Mirada in Bodrum.

The event was initiated by cigar importer Fumar. Managing Director Mehmet Yigit Türk is delighted: “Even though importing cigars to Turkey is a real hurdle, the enthusiasm and interest in Oliva and Nub cigars is overwhelming.”

Thomas Gryson, Export Manager and Travel Retail Coordinator at Vandermarliere Cigar Family, is also satisfied with the sales in Turkey: “We are very pleased with the market development in Turkey and are sure that we can serve the Oliva fans in Turkey well in cooperation with Fumar.”
