Merchants Cigar Bar is a sleek midcentury styled lounge that transports guests to another place and time. True to the age of the decadent Havana High Life – legal indoor smoking, fresh sourced cocktail ingredients, and music playing till the early morning hours. Merchants architecture and decor is alluring and authentic. Every element is a modern adaptation of classic design. Guests descend down a striking mahogany paneled staircase brought to life with brass accents, floor to ceiling bronze mirrors, and diffused lights. Upon entering the lounge, a luxurious custom brass bar greets guests to the right, as intimate tables and bespoke leather booths welcome couples and larger groups to the left. The space is adorned with handmade Calico Wallpaper, and lighting fixtures by Triple Seven and Soho House. Featuring playful branding and artwork by noted Berlin-based agency Maison C.C. and illustrator Benedikt Rugar, Merchants Cigar Bar offers guests an environment fueled by intrigue with hints of glamour in every detail.
Merchants offers a well-curated cigar selection from Davidoff – including but not limited to the Grand Cru Toro, WSC Churchill, Aniversario Short Perfecto, and Royal Release Robusto. The selection includes cigars from the Montecristo Classic Series in addition to the Double Chateau Natural & Maduro from Arturo Fuente. Padrón brings more options to the table, such as the 1964 and 1926 Anniversaries Series. This cigar selection was curated to exemplify some of the finest cigars the world has to offer. With tobaccos from almost every corner of the globe, you’re bound to find a cigar that suits your profile and excites your palate. All cigars on Merchants list come with rich history and high accolades.
Classics elevated with a modern approach highlight the cocktail menu created by Jared Kelly. Kelly honed his skills at USHG’s Porchlight under Nick Bennett. At Merchants Cigar Bar, Kelly has curated his cocktail creations to offer balanced flavors to complement the unique flavors of each cigar, from the spicy Macua de Isle to the vanilla notes in Corleone’s Choice.
Complementing the cocktails & cigars is a menu by Executive Chef Antelmo Ambrosio. Chef Ambrosio has crafted a menu of time-honored plates including Steak Tartare prepared tableside, a Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras with brandied cherries, Caviar with all its accoutrements, Lobster Tail, Ribeye Steak, Shrimp Cocktail, Spicy Tuna Tarata, Prosciutto Di Parma & Deviled Eggs and for a sweet tooth, Merchants offers lava Chocolate Cake.
