Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is home to the newest Cohiba Atmosphere. The opulent lounge was officially opened on Monday 21 October with a star-studded red-carpet event featuring a who’s who of the Kuala Lumpur cigar and wine scene, as well as regional media and international cigar industry personalities.
Guests of Honor included the Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia Her Excellency Ibete Fernandez Hernandez, Diplomatic Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba Mr Jose Camero Hernandez, President of CAKL Tan Sri Vincent Lee, and Director of CAKL and Group Executive Chairman of Asiaeuro Wines and Spirits Mr Her Soon Seng. Habanos s.a and Pacific Cigar Company were represented by fellow guests of Honor Habanos s.a.’s Development Vice President Mr Jośe Maria López Inchaurbe, Pacific Cigar Company CEO Mr Dag Holmboe, and Pacific Cigar Company Regional Manager Mr Gonzalo Alvarez Elola.
Mr Jonathan Chow, Group CEO of Asiaeuro Wines and Spirits, began the official proceedings, welcoming guests and explaining the year and a half-long journey to open Cohiba Atmosphere Kuala Lumpur. “We fell in love with Cuba and the wonderful cigars they made, and we wanted to bring Cuba to Kuala Lumpur. This whole project, which has been one and half years of love, comes to fruition today,” said Chow.
In reply to Mr Chow, Mr Dag Holmboe stated that a year and half is actually a short time to bring something so amazing to life. “Congratulations, you have done a fantastic job, you have created something very unique and very special that I’m sure all of us will enjoy very much,” said Holmboe. “Thank you for bringing Cohiba Atmosphere to Malaysia.”

With 9000 square feet of floor space set over three levels, the lounge has a seating capacity of 80 people, includes a walk in humidor, two lavish well-stocked bars, four VIP rooms, a 16-person capacity boardroom, and a Karaoke room to indulge crooners with their favourite tune. The lounge is opulent to say the least. Chandeliers, a cutting-edge ventilation and air-conditioning system, and beautiful artwork make the space an indulgent cigar venue.
