Santa Clara Celebrates the New Generation

As Mexican cigar brand Santa Clara are closing in on 200 years in the tobacco industry and 60 years in the cigar business, they are celebrating their 6^th generation of cigar makers by releasing new lines. At InterTabac they launched a total of three new Santa Clara 1830 lines, and one revamped.

“We have the Liga Maestra, which is smooth and on the lighter side, the Connecticut style Reserva Única and the Maduro,” Marco da Costa says. “The Maduro is also very smooth and some people say it’s earthy and sweet. We’re running out of samples of that one, so I think it’s going to be a top seller. We also changed the band for our Clásico.”

Da Costa works in sales, and is part of that 6^th generation.

“This is us starting fresh,” he explains. “My grandfather is in his 80s and my aunts and mother are slowly thinking about retiring, so this is a way to introduce me and my cousins to the cigar community.”

All of the new lines come in three vitolas, Robusto, Toro and Toro Grande.
