S.T. Dupont Presents The Dust Collection

The lacquer technique was introduced in the workshops of Faverges in 1935 by Georges Novossiltzeff, a visionary master lacquer craftsman. Since then, it has become one of the House’s defining technical and aesthetic signatures. This rare and demanding art is applied by hand in successive layers and then meticulously polished to achieve exceptional brilliance and unparalleled durability.

Inspired by Chinese and Japanese traditions, S.T. Dupont has reinterpreted this savoir-faire to create an almost infinite spectrum of colours, textures and finishes. Every lacquered object embodies the precision, creativity and craftsmanship of master artisans whose expertise is truly unparalleled.

The mastery of the gold dust technique, which dates back to the earliest workshops of S.T. Dupont, is among the House’s most precious artisanal crafts. Applied to fresh lacquer and then sealed beneath transparent lacquer layers, the gold dust reveals a fascinating luminosity.

The Dust Collection brings together precious materials such as Urushi lacquer, one of the most prestigious traditional lacquers, gold and palladium. It is presented in innovative colour gradients featuring luminous lacquer tones (Blue/Palladium, Green/Gold, Red/Gold), as well as in a fully lacquered version with a timeless colour combination (Black/Gold).
