Romeo y Julieta Edición Limitada 2018

“La Noche” In Red And White

Red and white are not only the corporative colors of Romeo y Julieta but also of the Atlético de Madrid football club. In a joint project, in the Metropolitano Stadium, the home of the Atléticos, Habanos released the first limited edition for 2018 worldwide, Romeo y Julieta Tacos, at a party with 500 guests.

The event is called “La Noche” (in Spanish, “the night”) and is one of the most anticipated parties in the Spanish cigar industry. Habanos and Tabacalera, the exclusive Habanos distributor in Spain, organize a big celebration which, year after year, is used for the release of a brand new cigar from its portfolio.

On Saturday September 8, it was Romeo y Julieta at the Night of Love, and the stage elected for this play was also red and white, the Metropolitano Stadium. The place could not have been better for a tremendous party in which five hundred guests, passionados, retailers, selected press and professionals, were able to taste the worldwide premiere of the new Romeo y Julieta Tacos Edición Limitada 2018, vitola de galera tacos imperiales (168 mm x 49 mm), a traditional Cuban vitola from the Seventies that Habanos used for its previous limited edition.

La Noche was full of cigars and surprises, performances, classic dance, live music, a DJ until the early hours, fun, and cigar lovers who were able to try a large offering of premium products such as cava, wine, spirits, caviar, cheeses, acorn serrano ham (pata negra, “black leg”) and also visit booths with all the novelties from brands, such as watches Cuervo y Sobrino, ST Dupont, and Lampe Berger. All this unlimited, with the top three Romeo y Julieta cigars: Petit Royales, a vitola de galera Caprichos (95 mm x 47 mm) as appetizer, a Wide Churchill, VG Montesco (130 mm x 55 mm) as first course, and the Tacos EL 2018 for the main course.

An atmosphere of passion and friendship was created in the Metropolitan Stadium by Habanos, attended by CEO Luis Sánchez-Harguindey and Fernando Domínguez, president of Tabacalera.

The event has become one the most expected annual cigar events for Spanish passionados. Tickets cost EUR 70 each and are sold out within a few hours. You have to be a member of Club Pasion Habanos and quick to book online if you want to attend. Last year, Habanos presented the Montecristo 1935 Serie at an event in the Madrid hippodrome. The countdown for next year’s release begins.
