Chile is internationally respected for the high quality of its wineries, and the city of Santiago is a great place to try some of the best wines in the country together with the local cuisine. But the Chilean capital also has another fine location to visit, especially appealing for cigar enthusiasts. The basement of Hotel W, in the charming neighborhood of Las Condes, houses one of the nicest Las Casas del Habano in the world.
Santiago’s La Casa del Habano has a terrific atmosphere and plenty of space to spend a nice afternoon or evening while enjoying a great smoke.
The walk-in humidor offers some of the main great Cuban brands. The recently launched RamĂłn Allones PatagĂłn, a regional edition dedicated to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, plays a special role. A nice selection of aged Habanos also draws the attention of anyone looking for a fine smoke.
La Casa del Habano has a pleasant lounge and bar where customers can enjoy classic cocktails or the Chilean favorite, Pisco Sour. Guests can take an imaginary trip to Havana while looking at the large image of the Calle Empedrado, the street in which the famous Cuban res- taurant La Bodeguita del Medio is located.
The house offers an interesting membership program. Firsthand access to Habanos product launches, luxury magazine subscriptions, access to lockers and a private area in the bar are some of the advantages that members can enjoy.
The evenings during the week are very busy, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays, when La Casa del Habano Cigar Club members gather for a smoke.
