On October 7, 2025, La Casa del Habano Sheffield proudly opened its doors, marking an exciting new chapter for cigar passionados in South Yorkshire. The new establishment is owned and operated by husband and wife James and Frankie Mitchell, together with Frankie’s father, John Mitchell, the family team behind the renowned Mitchells Wines. Their longstanding dedication to fine wines, spirits, and cigar specialists has naturally evolved into this latest venture — bringing the globally respected La Casa del Habano experience to Sheffield.

The opening celebration welcomed an intimate gathering of guests, including friends, clients, and cigar enthusiasts, who enjoyed a distinguished evening of Cuban cigars and hospitality. Attendees savoured exceptional Habanos  complemented by a curated selection of fine English sparkling wine from Nyetimber and premium whisky’s from The Lakes Distillery, both of which perfectly reflected the elegance of the occasion.

Hunters & Frankau Ltd — the exclusive distributor of Habanos in the United Kingdom — was represented by Sean Croley – Sales & Marketing Director, José A. Cejas – Corporate Director, and Tim Owen – Account Manager, whose attendance underscored the strength of partnership between the distributor and this new franchisee.
