Habanos Humidor auction raises more than 11 million Euros

The traditional Gala Dinner marked the last day of the 23rd Habanos Festival. In a night filled with musical attractions and dancing performances, more than 1,200 guests gathered to smoke the new releases of the Partagás Linea Maestra.

The Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez was among the guests that witnessed another record breaking humidor auction. And in fact, the prices of the humidors auctioned seem to have no ceiling in those new days.

Since 2020 when the Cohiba humidor broke the plane of one million euros mark, being sold by 2,4 million, every year the number keep going up. This year the Cohiba humidor was sold by 4,2 million euros. This humidor was signed by Díaz-Canel repeating a tradition created by Fidel Castro in the early days of the Festival.

The other humidors auctioned were H. Upmann (1,8 million euros), Hoyo de Monterrey (980 thousand euros), Romeo y Julieta (1,2 million euros), Montecristo humidor set celebrating the 150th anniversary of the St. Dupont (440 thousand euros), and Partagás (2,6 million euros). A total of 11,22 million euros were raised with all the money going to the Cuban Public Health System.

The night ended with the guests dancing and celebrating in a concert performance of the mytical Boney M. group.
