Duran Cigars Roller Crisanto Cardenas

“Evening with a Torcedor 2” set to Ignite Kuala Lumpur Cigar Scene

Roberto Duran Cigars’ head roller Crisanto Cardenas will be commencing a three-month rolling tour of Malaysia from the beginning of November, with the showcase event “Evening with A Torcedor 2” slated for 25 November.

As a guest of Trinidad Cigar Company, distributors of Roberto Duran cigars, Cardenas will be rolling cigars at hotels and cigar venues across Kuala Lumpur and wider Malaysia as he did in the same period in 2016. The premier event of Cardena’s tour will be “An Evening with a Torcedor 2” on Saturday 25 November in Genting Highlands, a casino and resort precinct situated 1700m above sea level one hour from Kuala Lumpur. Brand owner Roberto Duran will be flying in for the event, while Cigar Journal is an official partner. Last year the first edition of the event drew hundreds of local cigar and pipe lovers.

“Trinidad Cigar Company and Mampos Pipers group will be hosting the second edition of ‘An evening with a Torcedor’. This year’s event will see a pipe meet and a cigar rolling event together under one roof,” says Hazely Harun of Trinidad Cigar Company. “Mr. Roberto Duran of Duran Cigars will make a special appearance and Senor Crisanto Cardenas will be the torcedor for the evening, rolling out custom cigars. We are expecting a big turnout of over 100 smokers with plenty of prizes to be won.”

“I am delighted to have our cigars available to the cigar enthusiast of Malaysia,” said Roberto Duran. “We are a boutique brand vertically integrated; we grow our own wrappers in Ecuador, we process all our tobacco leaves in our processing facilities in Nicaragua and we roll all our cigars in our own Nicatabaco factory in Nicaragua. The entire process is carried out by a team of Cuban experts including the legendary roller Santo Cardenas, who has over 57 years’ experience in blending and rolling premium cigars, and who is now quite familiar to the cigar community in Malaysia. This sets us apart from other brands and speaks of the craftsmanship of our brands Roberto Duran, Neya, Baracoa, and Domazan. We look forward to sharing our passion with cigar lovers in Malaysia.”
