Don Duarte and Villa Vieja Go Bigger

Fernando Navarro from Cigar Conexion came to InterTabac with two new line additions. Don Duarte now has a Super Ancho and Villa Vieja has a Grandeur.

“We see the trend of thicker sizes, and we were missing some 60s in both the Don Duarte and Ville Vieja lines,” he says. “The Super Ancho is 4½ x 60 and Grandeur is 5½ x 60.” 

He has also developed a water resistant paper packaging for the Omar Rodriguez line.

“I used to work in the paper business, so this is my idea. This kind of paper has been used in walls and it keeps the humidity much better than cellophane.”

Besides this, he will also be the international representative for his partner Raymond Pages first own cigar brand.

“I make my cigars at his factory, Tabacalera Pages in Estelí, and together we produce Cuervo y Sobrinos, but Pages Cigars is his first own brand. It’s a smooth, medium to medium plus cigar with a very special silky Ecuadorean wrapper from Estelí.”
