Cigar Conexion Introduces Bigger Ring Gauges

Bigger ring gauges were the name of the game when Cigar Conexion presented its new products at InterTabac in Dortmund. Cigar Conexion produces several different brands, and this year they introduced new vitolas for Don Duarte, Villa Vieja, and Pichardo.

“There’s a lot of demand for bigger cigars, so we have a 4 ½ x 64 Don Duarte and a 5 ½ x 64 Villa Vieja,” says owner Fernando Navarro. “In addition to that, we also have a new 20th Anniversary Don Duarte Lancero.”

These two brands are both produced at Tabacalera Pages in Estelí. In another part of the city, at Tabacalera Pichardo, Cigar Conexion produces a brand of the same name in collaboration with Eradio Pichardo Pérez.

“In this line, we have a new size coming out. It’s a Grandioso with three different wrappers: Criollo 98 Ecuador, Connecticut, and Criollo 98 San Andrés.”

Since graduating with an engineering degree in surveying in 2005, Simon Lundh has preferred to follow a profession in journalism. He stumbled upon the cigar world while working for a non-governmental organization in Estelí, Nicaragua, and is now mainly making a living writing about cigars, metal music, tattoos, and travel.
