Culture and a Riverboat Dinner Fill Amicigar Day Two

The second day of the 20th anniversary of Amicigar started with some cultural experiences. As many guests were visiting the country for the first time, why not get to know a little bit of Vietnamese culture?

Vietnam is also recognized because of its Taoist and Buddhist temples, so visiting one of those was the first activity of the day. It was an opportunity to learn a little bit more about the spiritual side of Vietnam.

Then the guests were taken to Binh Quoi Restaurant. The restaurant has 8.6 hectares and offers a little touch of the feeling of the Vietnamese countryside with its green areas, cultural attractions, and food. The lunch was dedicated to thememories of the Amicigar friends that are no longer with us.

The lunch ended with the traditional auction where some of the sponsors donated vintage cigars, spirits, wines, and cigar memorabilia. At this year’s auction, 10,170.00 USD were raised.

But the most awaited attraction of the 2nd day was about to come. A huge ship took the guests for a cruise on the Saigon River during dinner. It was an amazing experience as the river offered a special view of Ho Chi Minh City.

The emotional moment came later in the evening. The Avanti Group and the Golden Phoenix, co-organizers of this year’s Amicigar edition, invited Gino Ianillo to sit in front of the huge screen. They created a song especially to pay a tribute to the Amicigar event and presented it for the first time while images of the Amicigar events during those 20 years were shown on the screen. It was a beautiful and emotional moment that brought some tears to Gino.

The fun and music went on until 11 pm when all the group had to leave the ship. But as many of you know… there is always a will for a last cigar and drink at every cigar event night, and La Casa del Habano was the stage again.
