Cigar Social Opens in Perth | Cigarfriendly: Australia

With some of the world’s toughest anti-tobacco legislation to contend with, opening a new cigar lounge in Australia seems like the last thing anyone would invest in, but Cigar Social’s founder Nick Russell likes a challenge.

“From a very young age, I’ve been passionate about cigars. There is nothing more enjoyable than a cigar with good friends and perhaps a nice drink. I’ve reached a stage in my life where I have the opportunity of doing just that,” said Russell.

Nick has worked with city government officials for the last year to ensure he complies with their direction whilst still building something quite special. “For me, it’s about pursuing my dream of creating an indoor cigar lounge for a select coterie. As far as I know, this will be the only such place in Australia – something that makes us quite special.”

Cigar Social will carry about ten of the best Cuban cigars and a similar amount of New World cigars. These are Russell’s favourite cigars. “I hope our members will share my tastes. Of course, from time-to-time we will introduce new, aged and special cigars.”

Cigar Social is a 20-minute walk or 5 minute drive from downtown Perth at 1300 Hay Street, West Perth. A members-only lounge, a day membership pass is available for interstate and international guests.
