The fourth annual Cigar Smoker of The Year Awards, founded by Boisdale, is set to add some extras festive cheer in London this December. The star-studded, ceremony, this year sponsored by Snow Queen Vodka and Zenith watches, takes place on December 12 at Boisdale of Canary Wharf.
Previous winners include movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger, popstar Simon le Bon and TV’s Jonathan Ross. Categories to be contested on the night include Cigar Terrace of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Cigar of the Year and Cigar Writer of the Year – the inaugural award of this category being won by Cigar Journal’s Nick Hammond back in 2013 and James Leavey in 2015. Nominees for this year’s main award include Charlie Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg.
“I would like to think that the Snow Queen Cigar Awards Dinner is second only in the cigar world to the Habanos Cigar Festival Dinner held every year in Havana,” said Ranald Macdonald, MD of Boisdale. “But unlike the Habanos Dinner, we wanted to open up the world of cigars and celebrate producers and retailers from both Cuba and the rest of the world, to bring the entire cigar community together for one spectacular event.”
Tickets for the night are available from £175; for booking and more information, visit www.boisdale.co.uk
