Cavalier Of Geneva Acquires Tabak Rhein

Cavalier of Geneva announced yesterday that it has purchased Rhein SA, the oldest existing cigar store in Geneva, Switzerland. Tabak Rhein was founded in 1905 by Salomon Rhein, a Ukrainian immigrant to Switzerland. It has remained a family business and an icon of Geneva cigar culture. The purchase was finalized in December of last year.

“We are very excited to merge the Cavalier of Geneva flagship store into a location with such history,” said brand owner Sebastien Decoppet, “we intend to maintain the classic feel of this shop and respect its deep history here in Geneva.”

The three-story location is currently undergoing a remodel, and will be re-named as “Rhein 1905,” a name Sebastien Decoppet chose to honor the store’s legacy and history.
